MAY 2010

We had such a successful theatrical tour in the KOOTENAYS of BC. It was so cool to see the huge line up down the street in Creston for the long awaited Premiere in the town we shot our film.

Nelson BC was amazing. We felt so honored to have so many people come to the film. Stay for for a long Q&A and have us sign autographs. We were treated like movie stars. Thanks everyone.

Castlegar. Great theatre, fab coffee and a grand audience.

Fernie was so much fun. Great audience. Great pubs and restaurants.

Rossland at the Miners Hall was the perfect ending to the tour.

We loved meeting everyone and travelling around the beauty that is BC. We are excited for a bigger tour in the fall. East Coast here we come!!!

We won the AUDIENCE AWARD  at the CALGARY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL double YAY!!!!

October 12th 2009

WE WON BEST NARRATIVE FEATURE FILM at the PORT TOWNSEND FILM FESTIVAL !!!! Yay

We have been away traveling to three festivals back to back. It was a whirlwind trip. First up was The Port Townsend Film Festival. This is a cool town with a fabulous festival. The original head of the fest had past away and they really did it up. Cloris Leachman was a guest and Robert Osborne from TCM. Our screening was at 1:15pm and we were thinking only a few people would be in the audience BUT it was a full house. So cool. A town that really loves film. We had a blast and had to leave early unfortunately to get to the Calgary film fest just as they were putting up a giant screen in the middle of town to screen An American in Paris. Oh to have seen Gene Kelly dance my favorite dance sequence with Cyd Charisse. They were amazing. So then off to Calgary which is quickly becoming a big festival. We had a great time here as well. We arrived at the theatre to the line of people going all the way around outside the theatre. That is a fantastic sight to see for your films screening. The festival had to put us in the biggest theatre to accommodate everyone. Super cool. The audience seemed to enjoy it. We were there awhile to talk to everyone before we headed off to our party. This was fun. A reunion of sorts for Mark and all his University of Calgary friends. Soon we were itching for more fun and ended up at a Crazy Korean Karaoke place that didn't know what to do with the forty of us that showed up. Maybe I'll post some videos of people singing if they'll let me haha. Then we were back to Seattle to see our friend JBM. The brilliant musician for our film perform in Seattle where he was on tour opening for Sondre Lerche. Then feeling like groupies we took the chance to drive up to Vancouver to see them perform again for their closing night and to hang out with friends from the film.then back the next day to Seattle and on to Tacoma with Jesse in tow for the Opening night screening of our film for the Tacoma Film Fest. This was fun. Good times. Good friends. Good travels. Good food. And especially good coffee to be had in the pacific Northwest.

Screening at the Washougal International Film Festival, Aug 12th-16th 2009

http://www.washougalfilmfest.org/

Friday August 14th 1:30pm East Room Washougal Washington. USA

With the reelheart film festival fiasco behind us we are excited for all that is coming up for us. Unfortunately even though the BIG Toronto Film Festival liked our film they weren't able to make an acception and ignore their RULE of PREMIERE films only. It is a shame as I really think that the fest should have a catagory for up and coming Canadian's that could use the support from their festival and have a catagory ANYWAY for films that have started their festival run earlier. A non premiere section would be brilliant. But alas that doesn't exist.

We recently had the chance to meet up with Bruce Cockburn in person last week and give him a copy of our film. We hope he enjoys it...haha. It was definitely cool to meet him.

We have cancelled he ReelHeART screening. So do not buy tickets. Cheers x

Music news. Our fab musician JBM is starting to get shows around the New York and Philidelphia area. Check him out in Philly this friday opening for the fantastic Elvis Perkins. We are excited for him. Go to www.jbm-music.com for all his info. We will also be going to see the wonderful Bruce Cockburn play at a music festival this Sunday the 21st in Mississagua Ont. Hopefully we will be able to meet him in person and talk to him about our film. All of you go check out his music ASAP.

We had a wonderful time in Kelowna for the festival. Staying up late meeting fellow filmmakers. Doing radio and tv interviews. It was fantastic. Our screening was a great success. Amazing to see so many faces in the audience. This could become addictive. Then on the eve of our screening I had to get sick. Terrible. I was unable to attend the award ceremony or have the pleasure of saying a final thank you and goodbye to all the wonderful people behind the Okanagan International Film Festival. However Mark came back to wake me with such a wonderful surprise. A glass award that read, " Best Canadian Independent Feature Film!" So exciting. I was unfortunately so ill I fell asleep a few minutes later with a big satisfactory grin on my face. We did it again! I will be posting video and pictures as soon as I feel better. But I wanted to post this sooner than later. :)

APRIL 3rd 2009

Our Latest and Greatest news is that we won an award at the Method Fest Awards ceremony last night.

To be specific we won the Maverick Award for Best (under 1 Million) Low Budget FEATURE FILM.

Mark Hug joked as he accepted the award saying "Under One million! Try under $100,000. Actually under 50,000. Everyone looked at us in shock then laughed. It was funny.

We received a lovely glass award saying Method Fest 2009 Maverick Award. And a bottle of wine,(which will come in handy for celebrating)

We were really excited and surprised as we didn't know we were nominated.

It doesn't end there. We were also nominated for BEST DIRECTORS in a class of very strong and known directors.

And May was nominated for BEST ACTRESS. So cool non?

Stay tuned for more exciting news! Thanks everyone for being a fan!
